Works pretty well on my horns with tight valves (Yamaha flugel and Kanstul picc). Doesn't last quite as long as Id like without hanging up. Switched to T3 for some time and feel it lasts a good deal longer without sacrificing much in the way of speed. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."

works the best with my Holton Revelation. very smooth and quick so I personally like it. Some people have reported it doesnt work well with their horn or body chemistry but personally i think the detergent in the oil cleans my vavles well. _________________ Long tones. |

Blue Juice does not work on my Schilke valves. It actually made them stick which is kind of the opposite effect you want in your valve oil. I was told by Schilke to get a thinner oil for their close tight valves. I am sure it works fine for other horns.. _________________ Bill

Works great on all my horns... Bachs, Yamaha and Schilke Plus, I don't have to clean as freqently..
I've gone through bottles of many to the top, most used and recommended oils.. using Blue Juice. _________________ Freelance Performer/Educator

I like it. It smells good and a top maker recommends it for new valves during the break in period. |

Recipe for a "Blue Note":
1 part Peppermint Schnapps
1 part Blue Juice
1 part Ginger Ale
Serve in a tall glass with a garnish of lime...
Don't drink this just before a gig...
The 'Juice' is pretty good for valves. The Ginger Ale and Schnapps are not... |

Blue Juice, I thought it is good for cleaning the valves? | I have heard it is good for that. This maker advises to oil through the slides rather than pull the valves until one has gone through a whole bottle of Blue Juice. Then, normal oiling procedures can follow. |

Works well on my Schilke, Bach, and Yamaha horns, new and old. BTW, I keep my horns clean and dry (except for oiled valves and greased slides). Al Cass works well on these horns also. On others' horns, I notice Blue Juice seems to penetrate moderately sticky parts such as valve caps. |

I have to re-lube far too often with Blue Juice. Been using Hetman's 2 for some time now and really like it for my playing. |

I think different oils work for different people; body chemistry probably has a lot to do with it. For me, Blue Juice is the only oil I have ever tried that actually caused the valves to be sluggish (as someone mentioned, sort of the opposite of what you want in an oil!), and that was in a clean, good condition Bach 37. I had to give the horn a complete cleaning to get rid of it.
Like Craig, Hetman 2 works for me.

I used Blue Juice for years, but found the results from their formula seemed to change from bottle to bottle.
Due to a recent horn purchase, I was surprised to find how good Yamaha oil (both "Regular" and "Lite") works on all my horns. _________________ Dave Wisner

Agreed. I used Blue Juice for a LONG time, because it worked pretty well on my horns. However, it did leave the residue mentioned by Tom. I've switched to Ultra Pure and have been very satisfied with it. |

Who is this top maker that recommends this stuff? | The guy was instrumental in the development of the Conn Vintage One. He restored a couple of horns for a friend and gave him the Blue Juice for both. After the break-in, any oil can be used. I'll ask him if I can use his name. |
