Hi,

Few moth ago, I bought pre-owned raw brass rotary trumpet.
Previous owner well maintained the shiny-yellow color by using brasso(right?) .

Actually, I want to make the horn have brown-red color.
But, even 5 months are passed, still its color didn't change dramatically.
Just partially lose the shiny-color and became slightly dark.

How long will take for fully changing the color from yellow to browny-red?
And if there some simple accelerating methods or precautions for getting a beautiful color, please let me know!

Thank you.

P.S ) The color I want to get is like the principal trumpet's instrument in the following video. (see 21:40 )

The best advice would be to not store it in a case, if you can find a safe place to let it sit out. It takes a while for raw brass to pick up a heavy patina.
