Hi

I bought one of these Denis Wick mouthpieces the other day. I think it had been rolling around in a draw at the shop for some time. It seems to suit me better than the Yamaha 16C4 I have played for years, now I have switched to a non reverse-pipe horn - bigger rounder warm sound...time will tell. I think it's also the cheapest of the DW range. I certainly doesn't score highly on the 'Bling scale'.

Anyway, I looked up the Denis Wick mouthpiece chart, and googled for some time and haven't found any reference to 'CM' - plenty of 'C's, but no 'CM'. So, does anyone know what the 'M' stands for and its relevance?

I suppose it doesn't really matter if it plays well but just curious.

Does anyone else play one of these?

Cheers
Richard

Well, I guess not. Must be M for Misstamped - someone pushed the wrong button.

There doesn't seem to be a 1 1/2 CM but there is a 1 1/2 CH, are you sure it's a M ?

There is a CM listed in their old catalogue but specifications read the same as the C version. Maybe a different rim shape?

Yes, that makes sense, I think it had been kicking around in the shop for a long time. I think the Maurice Murphy is designated MM. I could only find the H as well. Its definitely a very clear M.

Thanks for the replies.

Cheers
