Broader projection pattern, tends to de-emphasize the highest frequencies so more mellow sound, and gets you your five posts.

It doesn't seem like the OP broke any rules, so why the harassment and disparagement?

Which part of those two posts would you say was harassment?

As the seller is Canadian and is asking $2700 US, I wonder if he would take $1999 CA?

Maybe there's a joke here I'm missing, but otherwise it appears that you've got your conversion backwards. Since $1,999 CAD is equivalent to $1,475 USD, I suspect that's not what the seller has in mind.

With a bigger bell, you can hear yourself better.
I used to play a trumpet with a 6" bell, and now play one with a 5 1/4" bell. I can hear myself better than on my horns with standard sized bells.

Ok. Yes, he technically followed the rules, fine, but IMO, the rules need to be changed. I don’t know about you, but I consider this forum to be of more value than Craigslist, where anyone can list anything for sale, anytime. Personally, I would hate to see TH degenerate into that.

I have no prejudices against new members whatsoever, but guys who throw together five meaningless posts just to use the FREE marketplace? I have a problem with that, whether they are technically following the rules or not. I frequent another forum, they have a 100 post rule, that might be a bit extreme, but I think five is way too low.

Actually $2700 CA IS $1999. Just got the countries mixed up. The seller didn’t specify CA or US.

On the other hand: do we know if the OP is a scammer? Could just be he is a little clumsy and wanted everything - posts and marketplace - a little fast.

Your English is just fine giakara. It's all Greek to me, anyway.

Regarding Market Place availability, for some reason a power or powers that be are content with an easy and superficial criteria. It's old hat by now and it seems nothing is going to change. Their call, so . .

Could be a regular member but ussaly they do 5 post of nothing and just use the market place and never visit again the theforums , a 100 post requirement it will be a safe and fair number to use the market place , just my opinion.

I don’t think anyone IS implying that he’s a scammer, but check out his five posts. Obviously he just wants access to the free marketplace, then he’ll split. If I’m incorrect, my apologies to the OP.

Hey, 50 or 100 post minimums only guarantee that someone is either interested in participating here, or REALLY interested in selling something.....and I don’t see anyone going to that much trouble to avoid ebay fees.

IMO the five post minimum is too little to be worth much of anything. But as kehaulani said, it is what it is, and the people who run this site seem ok with the status quo. It comes down to what each of us is willing to take a chance with, personally, I would not (and specifically HAVE not; there was a horn I was really interested in, but it was listed by a similar short history member, I opted to pass) buy anything more expensive than maybe 50.00 from guys who jump on here, sell something, then leave.

If he's asking $2700 USD, the price would be $3653 CAD.

For those who don’t understand, if his asking price in CAD the buyer ends up with a nice discount, hence my attempt at a joke.

Look I’m really tired of reading posts about accumulating posts to facilitate adds.

Facts and ?
Some people create questionable inquiries just to get to an advertising in.
Some are just starting the dialog to gain information.
How will anyone know which is which as these start to appear.
I personally think either purpose is ok.
But the beating of dead horses is growing old.

Rod,

Your .02 is as valid as anyone else’s, but IMO, the way to
stop posts that are discussing the five post marketplace rule would be to change the rule. Until or unless that happens, this sort of discussion is likely to continue, because there are people here who feel strongly about the issue.

Personally, when I become tired of certain posts/discussions, and I do, I just skip
past them. Pretty easy solution, at least that’s my .02.

Unless there's a newbie to haze; then you don't seem to be skipping past.
