Yes there are a few non-toxic oils in the market.
most people use normal petroleum oils, but i read a lot about them and how toxic they are if not used in a proper way. So i decided to buy a non toxic oil and stop being concerned.

BerpBioOil is not only non-toxic but the best oil I've ever used. My valves NEVER stick.

I used to like Ultra Pure but I don't think their new formula is non-toxic anymore. Now I like Fat Cat Oil and slide grease.

Do any of the "non-toxic" oil manufacturers back up their claims with SDS's?

I really liked Berp when I tried it but ran into a problem on one horn when I didn't have my only bottle of Berp with me and applied "regular" oil to valves that were "Berped."

It was like adding epoxy hardener to the resin.

This is the second valve oil thread started by the OP. The answer is the samee in both - Berp.

Yep, second thread on basically the same subject. No harm done, but my suggestion to the OP would be to relax, don’t drink the stuff and you should be just fine. Dinosaurs like me (64) have been smelling/using various valve oils for over fifty years, basically still alive and in one piece.😎

I was given a bottle of the Berp Bio Oil and while the resulting valve action was initially great, even when I swabbed out the leadpipe and tuning slide daily, within a week the valve ports had a thin coating of goo which gummed up the valves.

BiNaK is similarly non-toxic and I've never had any goo problems with it. The original 495 formulation was pretty thick, which resulted in less-than-lightning-quick valve action (though my valves are always still faster than my fingers when it matters and the stuff lasts forever -- which is why I still have bottles of the discontinued stuff), but the current BiNaK PRO oil is advertised as having a thinner viscosity than the original 495.

Somehow people get the idea that anything that has any petroleum in it is as volatile as sarin.

In regards to Berp BioOil, in my experience it's best if you don't mix it with other oils. As for residue buildup, I believe they've changed the formula-I used to get that after a while but not any more with the new stuff. My valves never stick-I know it's time to re-oil when they get a bit sluggish, which happens after a few days. I add oil much less than I use to with other oils. Everyone is different due to preference and body chemistry-it works great for me....

Yamaha has a light oil that works great and lasts a long time. Many music stores don't carry it, so you have to be specific.

And that makes 5 in a few minutes. Enough for a Bach in the marketplace.
Thanks for all the nice information.
