I really enjoyed that. Thanks for posting. It is really fun that the composer is the trumpeter and can write to his own strengths.

I like how he wrote it to feature two different horns--each with a different sound and response. I've seen Arturo in videos playing at least a half dozen different trumpets in the last few years. He plays each one like it's his favorite.

Spitvalve, yes! I showed this to my wife and while I was watching it on a larger screen, tried to discern the differences in the trumpets, but the video is a little grainy. Good example of how a great player can use different gear to allow himself to stretch in different directions, or perhaps to make those stretched sound they way he wants them to sound. I really liked the tonal change-up too. Another phenomenal trumpeter who uses a lot of different and specialty horns is Mathias Höfs. I have heard he has had horns made for specific pieces.
