A couple years ago I needed a horn in a hurry and Steve went out of his way to take care of me quickly - he's a great guy to do business with! _________________ Dave Wondra

I bought a mute from him that I needed quickly for a gig and he hooked me up with overnight shipping at no additional cost.
Haven't bought anything expensive from him, but he appears by all accounts to be a mensch. _________________ Yamaha 8310Z trumpet

Hello all,
I too can vouch for Steve. Bought a horn from him a number of years ago. Had other emails with him about a couple of other horns. Always a straight shooter. _________________ Christian K. Peters

Two years ago I bought a recently released CarolBrass trumpet from Steve, which I could not find anywhere else (I live in France). Steve was quick, efficient, and made a very neat (and not too expensive) expedition. Great deal with a true gentleman. _________________ Mikel Dupac / LawlerC7 / CarolBrass flugelhorn + pockets / Olds Super / Conn New Wonder cornet / Music is the healing force of the Universe |

Another +1 for Steve, he's a stand up guy. Have made multiple purchases from him and he's always gone above and beyond on communication, honesty, and customer service.

I too have purchased and consigned horns with Steve. Each transaction was a professional and pleasant experience. I often find myself checking his Horntrader site to see what he has in stock. _________________ Bill Howard - Saginaw, MI

I bought a couple of horns and a mute from Steve. His merchandise is always exactly as described, and he ships things very promptly. He's a 'straight shooter' and a very nice guy. |

As above - Steve Dillard is the real deal.
Among the testimonies told above - quick shipping; accurate, honest descriptions; etc. - I recall once ordering an EMO cup mute that he had on backorder and he offered to ship me his personal mute! I was just adding to the arsenal, and told him I was in no rush, but that truly impressed me.
Highly recommended seller (and teacher) - a gem!

Living in San Diego gives me the luxury of driving over to Steve's every now and then to try stuff that looks enticing on his website. Sometimes I buy, sometimes I don't.
I have been buying and selling horns through Steve for about 20 years. He currently has 2 of my horns listed on his website. When my cousin told me he intends to never play again, he asked me where he should sell his horns. Steve now has his horns listed.
I would certainly recommend HornTrader.com |

He's certainly "been around", bought several mutes from him and a Carol Brass instrument. I can certainly say I've had a wonderful experience buying from the Horn Trader. |
