Usually I don't get in to this stuff but this time curiosity has gotten the best of me! I've been listening to ALOT of Till Bronner and love the guys' sound. Does anybody know what gear he uses? Trumpet, flugel and mouthpiece???

Thanks,
Butch

Certainly no Bobby Shew (no stepbore, no 72 bell and so on), I played one years ago, liked it very much but everybody advised against it: thin sound, tight in the upper register. For me, I thought the sound was excellent and the horn played very good but I was inexperienced and had no upper register at all then so I let go.

Is a lite horn or standard weight the bell is like the 6335 bell ?
I remembered from a friend that it was a step bore but probably I was wrong.

I read somewhere that Till Brönner's secret is that he uses the Whisper Penny.

(Really, I jest.)

I'm pretty sure he currently uses and endorses Yamahas. A 6000 series named after him and the Shew flügel, to be exact.

In the past he used a vintage Martin and an Inderbinen flügelhorn.

I don't know which mouthpiece he prefers. And like I wrote above, I'm not serious about the Whisper Penny.

Till has been playing a Bach trumpet lately and a Yamaha flugel.

The Z horn is a medium (step) bore horn with a big 5 inch bell, lightweight, no brace in the tuning slide, reversed leadpipe. The 6330B is a ML horn with a two piece (no 6335) 123 mm bell, brace in the tuning slide, medium (standard) weight and indeed a reversed leadpipe.

And I still believe the new 6335RC is a further developed Brönner horn with another (goldbrass) bell,

I remember seeing an interview with him somewhere in which he said that at that time he was still playing the same Bruno Tilz 1-CWE mouthpiece.

Also backed up in this previous thread in second post by Maarten:

The RC has a red brass bell (90% CU), not gold brass (85%)
Somehow I believe that the RC is a little bit like the 3335, a student trumpet that is played by Andy Haderer. But that may be total nonsense.

The 6335RC has gold brass bell and is a 6335 body with different bell and new reverse leadpipe, this is the specifications from Thomann site.
Also as far I now red brass and gold brass bell's is the same with 80% brass and copper bell has more brass 90% i believe, correct me if i am wrong.

Yellow brass 70 % copper

Gold brass 85 % copper

Red (or rose) brass 90 % copper

6335RC trumpet = Gold brass bell

As Trent said, Till now uses a Bach trumpet and a Yammie Flugel. He played an Inderbinen Wood Flugel for ages. He told me at the bar at ITG (best place for informtion) that he dropped that horn down some stairs and thats why he started playing the Yammie! He hasn't played the 6330B for years and it is no longer made. On a Bach here, not sure what model:

I am not sure what your confusion is so this post might not help.

Getzen offers two bell options on the Eterna deluxe. The 900dlx has a copper bell and is the one I quoted. The 907dlx has a yellow brass bell.
