Hello guys,

I would like to have a good way of keeping all my mouthpieces together in one safe place. I've seen these mouthpiece display cases occasionally, but am wondering if there are any good ones for sale anywhere for a decent price?
I don't want a rack, but really a box with room for at least a dozen or so mouthpieces.

Alternatively, what are your experiences with larger mouthpiece pouches? Which ones do you recommend? Which ones are disappointing?

And finally: what would you recommend for 'delicate' mouthpieces? I have a few made out of wood (Lignum-Tech from Germany) and a Monette that I would like to carry with me as well.

But mostly, I'd like some info on where to get some boxes really

Don't have any info on boxes/racks, but you could build one. I just store mine in their original package.

In my case I have a Protec quad mouthpiece pouch that works well. I keep my Monette in there.

In the near future I plan to exclusively use Monette equipment, and then I will get a Monette designed mouthpiece case.

Contact Pickett and ask if you can buy the case they sell with their educator kit.

Just a thought, but have you considered something like this?

https://www.amazon.com/Flambeau-Outdoor-Classic-3-Tray-Tackle/dp/B074ZMH89J/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Flambeau+Outdoors+6383FB&qid=1568325678&sr=8-1

I know it's a fishing tackle box, but it holds mouthpieces well and you can fit dozens of them in there!

eBay has a bunch of wooden boxes that could work.

Yes, that is what I need! They have them listed empty on the accessories tab. The price is not that bad (70 dollars). I was in the process of ordering one, but sadly, international shipping is about the same, and importing fees and duties are around that as well, so that's almost 200 dollars to get it here....

I think I should make my own... I looked for that before, but I am having trouble finding the right keywords to search for empty boxes.

Anyone know what that foam is called?

I suggest that you make a mouthpiece box to fit your needs.

I like having a little bit of grease on the end of the mouthpiece to protect them from getting stuck and from silver-plating loss by my trumpet's receiver, and I like the idea of having a solid structure protecting the mouthpieces.

So, I made my 4-mouthpiece carrying box from a plastic Staples Office Store index card box and then secured 4 pieces of 1/2 inch PVP pipe connected to 3/4 inch adapters on top to cradle the cup of the mouthpiece. I glued a thin strip of leather to the inside lid of the box where the lid contacts the rim of the mouthpieces.

The PVC pipe protects the mouthpiece in a nearly indestructible tube from the underside of the rim all the way to the end of the shank/backbore. My mouthpieces will likely never get damaged unless crushed by an exceptionally heavy object . . . like a steamroller.

How about starting with something like this, which also has a bunch of liner options...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SNAP-LID-WOODEN-JEWELRY-BOX-FULL-SIZE-JEWELRY-TRAY-1-1-8-t-JEWELRY-STORAGE-CASE/140984775610?hash=item20d358f3ba:m:mcwsTkuOGumKp4VE9DQtx7w:sc:USPSPriority!60657!US!-1

It is hard to tell if the internal depth is sufficient, but the price is right.

Buy a pistol case and put some foam in it.

I use a tackle box for mine. I bought some small zip-lock style bags from Amazon to put the mouthpieces in so they don't get tarnished. All in it was under $30 and it's served me quite well.
