Wish me luck. My lumbar fusion revision surgery is a week away and all systems are go.
Big thanks to TH members Bill Rife, John Mohan, and Steve Cooper who are subbing for me in three bands while I’m on injured reserve.
Here’s a peek at me and my doc. That’s me in the brace I gotta wear for 12 weeks. It fit right into my Halloween costume this year!

Great costume. Good for you getting that back fixed. I'm sure you'll be as good as.....well, not new, but better. And back to playing in no time. Best wishes. _________________ Richard

Thanks, guys. That fancy outfit is mostly the wraparound TLSO brace I'm supposed to wear for 12 weeks. Custom made for a cool $1,179. (Coulda bought a nice used horn for that.) _________________ Jim Hatfield

It’s now two weeks since my lumbar fusion revision surgery and my recovery is going great. Yesterday I walked half a mile to get a haircut - the farthest I’ve walked in more than a year!
I updated the photos in my SmugMug Gallery (Link in first post). One pic shows the old hardware that was removed and replaced with more titanium.
The shot of me with two braces shows the black bone stimulator that I wear two hours a day to promote my four level fusion.
Best news of all: I’m playing more and better than before the surgery! _________________ Jim Hatfield
