Here's a great video of long time Claude Gordon student and advocate Paul Cacia performing with his big band live at the Moonlight Tango in Sherman Oaks, California. It gets particularly interesting around 4:20 in the video (from a trumpet player's point of view).

Is Paul Cacia still giging ?
many years ago, there were many recordings of the Greats in his website, such as Kryl, Clarke, etc... pity there are not anymore...

Paul has gone through some serious medical issues the last few years. I exchanged a couple of emails with him a year ago and he felt he was on a road to recovery and was hoping to get back to the horn. From 2015:

November 1, 2015

Trumpet Artist Paul Cacia

Monday August 31st 2015, Paul Cacia was transported to the hospital in Las Vegas, by paramedics, where he was stabilized by emergency personnel and admitted for renal failure.

Diagnosis confirmed him as an insulin dependent Type II Diabetic with kidney failure, liver disease, chronic high blood pressure, tachycardia, and secondary kidney and gall bladder complications.

He has been stabilized and is responding to treatment.
