I’ve been playing a lot of Mahler V(really into Trauersmarch Rehearsal #7) and want to find a solo that captures the same sort of aggressive heavy nature of it. I’ve heard Brandt Concertpiece 1 which I like, but I was wondering if anyone has any solo pieces that sort of fit that angry, powerful style. If you have any please let me know, I’d like something to mess around with.[/list]

Honegger Intrada
Jolivet Concertino (a bit more dissonant)

There’s other great choices as well, those just popped into my head instantly.
