I've recently purchased a 1961 Reynolds Contempora Leonard Smith model Bb trumpet in silver plate and I was hoping to get some feedback from those of you who have experience with this line of Reynolds horns. I've seen many Contemporas come and go on the market but this w one was so unique that I felt I had to take a chance. I'm specifically looking at how it might fit in amongst my current stable (Yamaha 8310z - lead and big band; Olds Mendez - concert band; Olds Recording - practice room and no particular performance role as yet) and what role it might potentially play.

Cheers in advice for your considered responses.

Mr. Smith was known as a cornet player, so it would be interesting to see what trumpet he endorsed.

Nice horns. I expect the Smith model might replace your Mendez for concert band ...
You need to get that Recording involved somewhere!

Excellent feedback, much appreciated. Will post a review once I receive the horn later in the month.
