Has anyone done any side by side comparisons with Louisville Leadpipes as made by the original Blackburn Trumpets company next to the ones made by Pickett/Blackburn? New vs old?

I'm curious if it's worth getting a new one to try...I have Bb and A pipes that are about 15 years old, and am just curious.

Best,
Louie

Kinda, sort of. I have a twelve-year old Blackburn A pipe for my Schilke P5-4. I recently bought a new Pickett/Blackburn pipe. They were not the same; the old was a #2 and the new was #1. I can say at my age I can fill the #1 better. The appearance is a bit different, but I have no way to offer any other comment because they are different models. The build was fine on both.
