Ke, sorry but NO to Wick Fowler's. Some day you'll have to experience the rich taste of our Pure Texan Chili. It's the recipe and taste that won the Terlingua International Championship in 2008.

Very ono indeed. I love Zippy's.
There's a pretty decent Mexican Restaurant called Serge's Cantina. One in Manoa and one on Kalaneaneole Highway in Waimananlo. Never had the chili but the food is good.

Zippy's is a chain restaurant, been around since the 60's. They have about 25 restaurants in the islands.
I'm impressed at your 1st and 2nd place finish on Maui. Was that in Makawao? Last time we were on Maui we ate up there. Very good meal. We ordered from the deli at a market and found a picnic table under a tree. Makawao is an interesting fun spot.

Well, I did have some turkey chili for lunch before I laid down to sleep. ( I work overnight) and it was good. Canned stuff, not as good as what you all are talking about, but pretty good.

Peanuts56,

When we won, the championship was held at Ulapakua Ranch. That's another good place for a bite to eat and home of the Maui Winery.

I have to tell you, when they begin announcing winners with tenth place and they get down to first and second with two Texans remaining amongst the other cooks who haven't been called, those Texans get a little nervous. We were lucky and nabbed the top two spots and a great vacation to the islands.
