Twenty years ago I contracted Bell’s Palsy, a traumatic experience for anyone but especially so for brass players. I kept a detailed blog during the weeks and months of my recovery. I’ve shared the blog many times over the past two decades, and I know it’s helped a lot of people deal with the uncertainty surrounding the condition. This video is based on what I wrote in the blog.
Posting this during a worldwide pandemic, I do not mean to equate my experience with a cataclysm that threatens the entire human population. I look forward to a time when Bell’s Palsy would likely be the greatest worry facing a brass player. At that time, and now, I hope that sharing my story can provide a measure of hope to others.

Chase, I mentioned this on your Facebook post. Here is my brother's article on this, as originally published in Charles Colin's mgazine.
