No, but I have played on one, years ago in London. Tried really hard to find a
C cornet, and this was all to be had in the city.
My memory of it was that it simply wasn't a very good instrument. Nothing like most Selmer Paris instruments. Getzen, Schilke, Kanstul are the ones to look out for.

I have one of these, and with the right mouthpiece, it plays really well. I can't imagine that it would work very well in Bb (trumpets never do anyway), but in C it is nice. (I do need to play it with the tuning slide pretty much the whole way in, but I do have plans to fix it by cutting a little length out of the tuning slide. Oh yeah, it needs a saddle on the first slide also.) |
