You hold this one together amazingly well. Wow. It would be so easy to slip into spitting it out, but you maintain amazing control here. Another great example of how it should be done.

Very nice. Where do you think you are in terms of performing in a orchestra again playing wise? jw

You just make this one a wonderful, relaxing piece of music. Great way to end my day today. Thank you.

Certain parts of my playing are in very good shape right now, but I do not have the power or dynamic range I’d normally need for my day job. The room is too small for that. I have also slid a bit with upper register, but I’m working on that. The problem is I try to pick material I can polish and record in the span of a couple of hours or less. If my high range is t there then I skip over those. I need to circle back and hit it after I’ve gotten my etude for the day, but other things are creeping into my schedule, like teaching and taking care of stuff around the house.

Stunning execution. Pacing and dynamics just keep it as a piece instead of a bunch of notes (which in many hands it could become). How do you set yourself up for that? I mean, what is your mental focus to achieve that?

I am always amazed at how little change there appears to be as you ascend and descend in a piece like this.

That would have been my guess. However, to my ears your high notes are making it. Thanks for all the replies these last months. jw

Very nice. This was a new piece of music for me. Did you take it from the original score or is it in some collection?

It was an old spiral bound collection of etudes that most likely originated from the Cichowicz studio.
