It was a nice idea, but you made the right decision. For me it would be a simple "no thank you".

Speaking as an ER physician, there's some good information out there. But there's also an infinite amount of misinformation out there, too.

Let me add one more comment. For those of us thinking of other types of musical endeavors, like maybe a jam session with a couple friends, I'd say "no" to that, too. Social gatherings, with the intent to maintain "social distances", rarely work. On behalf of all of my fellow ER physicians and nurses out there, help us help you, and just stay home.

And John ... best of luck on the job interview!

Mike

+1

As a member of the crisis action team for the Pacific Fleet, much respect to all the folks going in the "deep end".

To the folks that don't need to be in harm's way, do us (and me) a favor and stay home. Don't try to skirt that grey area of what you might think is safe. I'm already down to my last mask and it stinks (literally)!

Some small musical ensembles are finding ways to record each member playing his/her part (listening to a click track in an earpiece) and recording it on video. Then they email the videos to someone who puts it all together in iMovie or something similar. Then post it on YouTube and share it with others. A new-fangled way to make ensemble music and share it with the community.

Here's just one example; others are popping up on YouTube: https://youtu.be/6fkbfPUrlm4

Maybe your group might want to try something like this with a tune out of your book?

Thank you to everyone providing medical care on the front lines!
