Even though I'm technically on vacation I decided to do a video on the 2020 version of our doubler's flugelhorn so people can see hopefully how nice a horn this is!
Been some time since I've shared on TH. On this one since I live in KC now I just had to play Moten Swing! I chose the incredible Schagerl Ganschhorn (this one is for sale btw not out of my own collection although I love love love it) and using the incredible KR indigo Max mute (thank you Kenny and Ed). This mute folks is a game changer for sure.
I hope you all stay safe tonight no matter where you are and what the results might show. Please let’s hope for civility and kindness towards all.
Much love from the home of the incredible Benny Moten!

Trumpet tunes Advent calendar?
Well it’s December 1st…. can you believe it? I certainly can’t. I just got an idea to do a daily Holiday Tune like an “Advent Calendar for your ears”. These are all first takes, but this time with a bit of better audio and video quality!
This is always one of my favorite tunes that I remember playing fondly with the Quintessential Brass (and my dearly departed friend Karen playing 1st trumpet… she always sounded so marvelous).
I’ll be recording all the clips on my new Christmas present, the ACB by Adams custom Coppernicus “Smaug”. Thankful to have such good gear to play.
