Hello:

Is there a good piano accompaniment of Hummel that can be obtained on PDF? My accompanist is finding the online versions are not so good. Thanks in advance.

FWIW- the third movement accompaniment rhythms make the piano accompaniment pretty difficult even if one plays under tempo...

My point is the one on imslp is not so good. I'm sure she can play it.

My edition of the Hummel (versions in E and E-flat) have piano parts edited by two wonderful pianists so that they are not only playable, but sound as though they were originally written for trumpet and piano. They are available in hard copy or PDF through Hickman Music Editions.

Jeez, get a real published, edited edition. You're a trumpet player for gosh sakes. I had two when I was still in High School.

Actually, I have the musica rara edition. My other part was either lost or worn out. It is always worth further study. But I would be open to Dave's version. I'm glad you know everything, though.

Ah, gotcha. I hate missing parts.

I certainly don't know everything.

There have been a fair amount of cheapskate freeloaders on TH over the years that mention imslp and online pdf for things that they don't want to actually spend money on to buy, when they really should, if serious. Usually, I just shrug, but sometimes, I get a bee in the bonnet, oddly. It happens, and I tell people to get off my lawn (or whatever).

Obviously, not the case, here. Sorry.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not above using imslp for things, but I'm also not inclined to complain about it given the price (not that you were doing that, either).

Anyway, good luck and I'll just move along, here....

You as well. If one must know, the IMSLP piano part is not good, as my accompanist told me. The convenience of having it already scanned was laziness more than cheapness. Most of the IMSLP stuff for trumpet solo that I have seen is not a keeper in my opinion. I don't like ghetto parts either.

I was asking around because I didn't want to scan another bad one and send it to the pianist. But I did get the Musica Rara Dave Hickman edition of the Neruda. I wonder if I have his version of Hummel and don't know it, since it is Musica Rara as well.
I won't be able to hand it over in person because the accompanist is overseas. If you'd like to hear the recordings I'd be happy to share. Should have it in done in a couple weeks, on Bb rotary trumpet.
