Nope, similar note choices and language as his later years. I transcribed his solo on Tune Up from a live recording in 1980 and there is a lot of similar language that the two solos share. I'll give a few examples below.

Thanks for sharing, I love this recording! The crazy thing about this recording of Chet is apparently it's from 1958 which is the same year that Miles recorded the original Milestones album, so Chet didn't waste anytime incorporating this tune into his rep. Check the 18'14 mark here (btw, it's the same recording):
