A p.s. follow-up, I have switched to BERP oil. On a good recommendation, I understand that it lasts longer than Hetman's but is as effective. I'm lazy when it comes to horn maintenance.
@Brad - same evaluation as my initial one. While there are some who say there is no difference in silver or lacquered Getzens, in my case, this lacquered one is a little darker.
Maybe that's not the way to say it. It has brilliance to match the silver horn when needed, but it just seems to have a broader range of colours, to lean towards a darker sound when needed. If it's not the finish then, of course, it could just be this horn.

if the BERP doesn't work (don't see why it shouldn't), Monster's Doc's Juice works like a charm on both my 900 and Proteus - usually once a week does it on both horns. It is also a really good oil to use on the 900's Amados. Doesn't gunk them up. |
