Any one know of any good Backing Track sites? Free or paid doesn’t matter. I’m just bored with practicing alone with no end in sight. (The Standards Real Book type of tunes).

Thanks. None of those are in the Standards book, though. _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. Not nearly as good as I want to be".

Check the iRealPro app. It’s relatively cheap and really flexible. You can change key, tempo, rhythm, and other stuff. _________________ Tivolian |

I have that but can’t work out how do do what I want with it. I can only find generic backing tracks to improvise over. Which I can’t do. I’m searching for backing tracks with sheet music to practice with.

Band in a Box? You have the chords and the melody from thousands of BIAB files. |

The sheet music is in the Real Books. For the most part, the chord changes are consistent between the Real Books and the iReal app. The combination should do exactly what you want. _________________ Tivolian |

Midi_Hits.com has impressed me. They are kinda promotional. In fact I bought one track from them so long ago that I can't even remember what it was. Yet hardly a day goes by when they don't send me some kind of promotional offer in email. I guess that's kind of a negative in some ways.
However one useful consideration is that enclosed in these spams (that I hardly ever read) are birthday trivia. Like because of Midi_Hits.com I learned that Deborah Harry turned 75 last week. And Barry Manilow was 77 the week before Harry did.
I mean it's trivia but useful trivia. Ultimately the purpose of backing tracks is to entertain. So why not incorporate some of these fun facts into your schtick, right? I often put birthday news in my own F/B homepage. Friends often like it. It's a way of connecting. And?
Maybe Elton John was surprised the day he found that he shared the same birthday as the late Aretha Franklin. I know that I was. That's right! Born March 25th! It's always been a cool day to have entered Earth! _________________ "Check me if I'm wrong Sandy but if I kill all the golfers they're gonna lock me up & throw away the key"!
