Hello,
It looks like Nick Payton is using a special wrist support for his trumpet during the tiny desk show (great performance, too!);
is it commercially available?

I find it somewhat hard to see but to me it just looks like the folded up sleeves from his blouse...do you have a timestamp or does he use it through the entire video? |

hibidogrulez, you may be right!
@ 19:45 there is a pretty close-up shot. I see there is a bracket on the bottom of the valve casing and I must have been fooled by the cuff on his sleeve.
But it sure seems as if his trumpet is very stable, maybe just good ergonomics! _________________ Lots of horns for the job |

I have no idea what the bracket may be for, but I can imagine it may be hard using a wrist brace and switching from piano to trumpet and vice versa. My guess would be that it is in fact his sleeve cuff after all.
The video is rather cool though, thanks for sharing! |

He generally uses a thing called "Ergobrass". But not in this live session.
That's is probably the purpose of the bracket you can see.
