what a great player. There are two albums that I always recommend if you want to just hear Harrell burning. The first is his first solo album, issued twice: originally as 'Aurora', then reissued as 'Total'. The other is an album by Rein de Graaff called 'New York Jazz' with a front line of Harrell and baritone saxophonist Ronnie Cuber. Both of these are burning sessions!

I have been fortunate to hear Tom live twice and he is one of the greatest living jazz musician alive today. Forever a fan. Thanks for sharing.

I have also been on a Carl Saunders kick lately. What a tremendous improviser.

I don't think that's available anywhere, just a bootleg of sorts.

There were some other performances from that gig that were just as incredible, not sure what happened to those.
