I am not sure if this is the place for this post, being new to this forum. To begin with, I am not a horn player, I am a guitarist. My brother passed a few months ago, and his wife gave me a Cornet, and two trumpets. I have no need for them and would like to sell them for her. I have no idea what they are worth. I looked up the serial numbers, but I am still not sure when they were made.

The Cornet is a model 37 ML 46017, made in Elkhart, Indiana. I am not sure how to post images, so I will have to look into this issue and try to post them later.

If I have posted on the wrong forum, my sincere apolagies.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Do an advanced search on ebay (upper right hand corner of start page) and look for the sold listings of your cornet. Put in the info and you will see what the model sells for.

Does it look a little something like this:

https://www.jlandressbrass.com/shop/c/p/1966-Bach-37-Cornet-x40371750.htm

You may aslo be able to look up the serial number, do some internet searching, it's not that hard to find.
Then it depends upon its condition. Have it looked over and appraised at a brass repair shop.

The 46017 SN for the cornet puts it in between 1965 and 1970, but if I had to say specifically I'd say it's more likely either 67 or 68. This is just a few years after they moved their factory to Elkhart, IN ('65). If it looks like what zaferis linked here, it's a long cornet in particular. Hope you find their next owners
