Hi

Does the Yamaha Xeno have two piece valve casings, or are they just one piece with the top half nickel-plated or silver-plated? I'm not at home, so can't have a look at mine, and it was something that come to mind whilst I was browsing on here whilst waiting for someone.

As far as I can see, the Yamaha website does not mention whether the valve casings are in one or two pieces.

Many thanks

Lou

For the 8335II:

"Monel; Two piece valve casings"

Thanks very much, this is really appreciated. The Yamaha USA website contains more information than the UK one.

i.e. https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/winds/trumpets/bb_trumpets/ytr-8335s/specs.html#product-tabs

Many thanks again

Lou

It also appears that there are some differences in the specifications. The Yamaha USA website says that the 8335II has Gold Epoxy Lacquer and a gold brass leadpipe.

The UK website however says that the 8335 (in the UK the 2nd generation is not called the 8335II on the Yamaha website) has clear lacquer. Mine definitely has clear lacquer. One of my colleague's 6335 has gold lacquer, and it looks quite different.

This Yamaha brochure from Europe says:

https://europe.yamaha.com/files/download/brochure/1/330421/yamaha_sales-mnl_xeno_eng_HR_20130909.pdf

Lead pipe material change
New yellow brass material which has got slightly more
copper gives a warmer yet clear tone colour.

This is presumably what my Xeno II has, and mine definitely has a yellow brass leadpipe.

Take care and best wishes

Lou
