Possible distant cousin

I found out recently that I have a possible distant cousin in Ireland who is a well known trumpeter/recording artist. His name is John Carroll and he is Facebook friends with one of my sisters. Three of my grandparents were from Ireland and my maternal grandfather was from Naples. my maternal grandmother was a Carroll. Two of my three sisters are very much into our Irish heritage. I always identified with the Italian side. Much better food!
I checked him out on youtube and there are a few recordings. His playing is kind of easy listening. I messaged him on Facebook but don't think he's real active and has yet to respond.
I think he's older, maybe late 70's. Anyone ever heard of him?
