Hi All, Long time follower, first post...
I have about 35 Aebersolds that I got when they had cassette tapes. Does any body know if there is a site where I can download the accompaniment tracks?
thanks |

You can go to jazzbooks.com and subscribe to streaming versions of the entire (I think) Aebersold catalog for about $5 per month. The streaming versions have some more flexibility, including the ability to slow the tracks down to a practice tempo and to transpose the tracks to some other keys. _________________ Bach trumpet artist-clinician

A clever story about Jamey Aebersold concerning a fellow on a flight. A guy sat down next to him and the fellow thought he recognized this person. He looked over and said, "you look familiar to me". The guy looked back and said, "one...two...one two three" in a familiar voice he recognized as Jamey Aebersold.

Ha!!! Every horn player alive would recognize his count-off...
Totally off-topic, but this reminds me of a few years back, I was on a crowded NYC subway, standing up with my horn in its case between my legs, reading a book, and I heard someone whistling the first few notes of the Haydn trumpet concerto behind me. Instantly recognizable, of course. I turned to face the whistler and it turned out to be an Italian tourist who spoke pretty much zero English, but was apparently also a trumpet player. So we just shared a smile and a few whistled notes and went about our respective days. I always thought that was funny - a few notes that every trumpet player on earth would recognize.
Anyway, I suppose Abersold's super-square count-off is the other!

Hey, thanks, Phil. I didn't know he was doing that now. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird
