CarolBrass Flugel- Little Screws That Hold Third Valve Slide

Does anyone know where I can get replacements for the screws that hold the third valve slide mechanism in place? They are soft black plastic. I took them off to clean the horn but, I damaged them a bit and, I'm afraid to remove them again.

I very much hope that this is resolved now.

Now it is time to give an opinion for the future.

If a decent manufacturer, and CarolBrass is decent, then all screws and other parts that are intended to be disturbed or removed will be made of metal, no exceptions.

Any parts such as screws that are made of plastic are not intended to be disturbed once fitted.

Routine cleaning does not need all parts to be disassembled you only need to clean parts that gather dirt and affect the playability.

If plastic parts need to be removed frequently and are likely to be damaged doing that then there is a basic design flaw in the instrument.

I do not believe that there is a design flaw here just over meticulous cleaning, and I love that, but here it has caused problems.

I would not disturb these screws again, or take advice from a tech on the wisdom of this.

Does your flugel third valve trigger setup appear similar to photos at

With that setup, there is more than one way of detaching the third valve slide.
