Can't seem to find a source for sheet music for 'Trumpeter's Prayer' by Tutti Camarata....

Trumpet, of course, and piano acc. would be ideal as well.

Anyone able to offer some much-appreciated assistance...?

Wow! An excellent song by Salvatore "Tutti" Camarati reminescent to me of his days as a trumpeter for Benny Goodman and Jimmy Dorsey, but my nostalgia doesn't answer your question.

He also did a lot of work composing and arranging for Disney, the answer coming or at least my best direction.
A. - Warwick Music, Ltd.
1 Broomfield Rd
Coventry, Cv5 6 JW England

B. Paul Camarata (Tutti's son)
Sunset Sounds
6650 Sunset Blvd
Hollywood CA

B. is a recording studio where much of the Disney sounds and many other music legends have been recorded. Paul inherited same from his dad.

A. Offers a Camarata CD with it as track #10.

Thanks, Ed...

Warwick does not show it on their online catalog.

I do have the piece saved, and a Tutti's Trombones CD coming, BUT.....hard to believe that the sheet isn't findable....?!

I'll persist....gotta be out there, somewhere.....

Tom Kubis did an arrangement of this tune. If you have some chops, you might want to check it out

To 'Divine Wind'...did you ever find that sheet music for Trumpeter's Prayer? I would love to find a copy. I purchased a version by Doug Hartzell in hopes of it being the right one, but it's not even close. Any help from anyone on this would be appreciated. I am a comeback player and this song is my barometer of far far back I have or have not actually come. Thanks.

Reflections: Toots "Tootie" Camarata was playing and arranging around 1936-38 on the west coast with Jimmy Dorsey at the Palomar Ballroom, he married one of the girls in the Palomar chorus. Earlier, back east, Chris Griffin and Tootie played in a New Jersey band, Scott Fisher.

I think I have a copy somewhere. It's not in the same key. Will have to go hunting for it.

I have the piece pretty much as played by Conrad Gozzo (Tutti's Trumpets, 1957). There are parts for trumpet, bass, and piano-conductor. Contact me if you think you might want to acquire it.

Old topic, but I found this thread while looking for "Trumpeter's Prayer" sheet music myself.

I never found any, so I transcribed it for solo trumpets, 3 "section" trumpets, piano, and string quartet.

[In other words, no woodwinds, no percussion, no chorus. But someday I might add those back in.]

It's a wonderful work by Salvador "Tutti" Camarata. I was shocked to learn it wasn't available anywhere but in a pretty irrelevant solo piano version.

We are playing this weekend at memorial service for a friend. I can't wait!

The piece was published in 1957 by the Walt Disney Music Company (trumpet and piano). Probably out of print.

I own what Disney published in 1957. It isn't exactly completely like the album, but it is a good trumpet and piano edition of what's on the album.

Some decades ago, I soloed with an orchestra in New Britain, Connecticut. I played the Arutunian. The concert was sponsored by the family of Conrad Gozzo. They asked that I play A Trumpeter's Prayer as an encore, in honor of Goz.

I contacted Tutti, and he sent me score and parts with orchestra. Before performing it, I gave a short talk to the audience, explaining what a giant Goz was to the music world. I told them that I would like to play the piece in my own style because no one would be able to copy the way Goz did it. It went well, but I was very nervous to play it in the hometown of the Great Goz.

I still have the program booklet somewhere, which contained tributes to Gozzo from several giants such as Frank Sinatra and Al Hirt.

Thanks,
