Does anyone know much about Carmell Jones and the trumpet or trumpets he played? |

From what I can find on google images, he played on a Selmer Paris (likely a Grand Prix), French Besson Brevete, Martin Committee, Olds Recording, Conn Connstellation 38B, and a Benge
From this website: http://www.andrecondouant.de/inhalt/carm/cj_pics.html
He played the Selmer early in his career, the Olds Recording in 1960, recorded "The Remarkable Carmell Jones" on his Martin Committee in 1961, owned the Conn 38B later in 1961, played the French Besson with Horace Silver's group in 1964, back on the Conn 38B in 1973, on the Besson in '80, switched to a Benge in 1982 and used that for the rest of his career.
I can't ID the mouthpiece, but I'd guess it was a Bach. Not sure what flugel he used either, but a lot of guys played Couesnons |

Didn't he play a Conn with Oliver Nelson? _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I was listening to his recording "Dance of the Night Child" the other day (Prestige, Jay Hawk Talk, 1965). Great stuff!
