Does the Ernest Williams Complete Modern Method contain the same material that is in Method of Scales? I have the complete modern method an do not want to purchase the Method of Scales unnecessarily.

The Method of Scales contains either all or almost all of the same scale studies as in the Complete Modern Method.

If you are looking for another source for a good scale workout, McGregor's "Daily Scale Builder," Rogan's "Scales Bootcamp" and Willey's "Scale Force" and "Upside Down Scales" are worth considering.

Also, Eric Bolvin wrote out all of the Arban scale studies in all keys, making it much more comprehensive than the scale section in the published Arban method. I believe Eric still makes that available for free on his website.

Good luck!

Thanks Eric for offering the scales for free. I downloaded it a few years ago. I have a couple of your other books as well.
