I own the 8310z flugel and love it. I posted a detailed review here:

I played the 6310 flugel so long ago that I don't think I can be helpful there.

thank you Turkle.
I'm asking this because i just tried this afternoon the prototype a friend of mine has built, and i compared it to my 6310.
The main weak point in my 6310 was the same i encountered between my 6310z trumpet and the 8310 z gen2 that i finally bought last year.
So i wanted to know if the 8310 flug had more core and was more centered than the 6310 (i'd bought my 6310 trump & flug in 2001)

best

Freaky! Looking at the Yamaha 8310Z flugelhorn, too and was going to comment on your review to ask about any updates on how it plays.

DJtot31, I absolutely stick by my original review. The 8310z is a great flugel with a classic French sound. Super fun to play, and the intonation is flawless.

JVL, if you're looking for a Yamaha flugel with "core," rather than the classic light and fluffy sound, I'd strongly suggest checking out the 8315G flugelhorn. It has a much thicker and more powerful sound, a more "modern" concept. A fantastic instrument.

Good luck!
