Keep the vowel constant |
^^^VERY IMPORTANT^^^^
When I sing I try to sing with a "trumpet sound," not a "good" vocal sound. |
Okay, I'll try that. Thank you, both. Do you articulate when you sing or is it always "ah?" Or is it based on the phrasing of what you're singing/playing? |
As with the vowel, it is vitally important that you pronounce the consonants exactly as you would when playing. _________________ Bach trumpet artist-clinician

The vowel can be A,E,I,O,U. The articulation is a consonant, D or T. We pronounce the sound EXACTLY as though we are singing/speaking. _________________ Bill Bergren |

For a good example of a singing sound listen to Jussi Bjorling. Copy that sound on the trumpet. _________________ Bill Bergren |

Also, Bjorling is the person Mr. Herseth cited as his sound model. _________________ Bach trumpet artist-clinician

Amazing how this concept is so widespread. But it doesn't work unless you can let go of the conscious mind and just focus on sound. Few will take the leap. _________________ Bill Bergren |
