I have a couple of vintage horns that I am thinking for putting up for sale. However, with so many wind players out of work due to the pandemic, I am wondering if it is even worth posting ads. Can anyone comment on whether they are seeing a downturn in demand for vintage horns?

It seems that way to me based on watching eBay... I am seeing a lot more re-listings where the horns were at pretty reasonable prices to begin with.

For me I confess it has been a positive as I am not a professional musician and have finally been able to buy some old Besson trumpets since there are more good ones at reasonable prices. So there are still buyers out there, just more sellers and fewer buyers than usual. And many things are still selling so it seems worthwhile to at least try.

Strictly anecdotal, but I still see a market for higher-quality stuff. The lowre-quality gear is what isn't moving.

It doesn't hurt to try! Whilst I was unsuccessful selling my horn, I managed to make a wonderful trade with a member and make a new friend. So I guess depending on what you're looking after, maybe it could work out?
