Well, this seems interesting. $500 new and plays in all keys. Has anyone experienced in baroque trumpet tried one of these with an opinion? Sure beats the normal price! What is the equivalent modern trumpet for reference? TIA _________________ Jon J

It is a natural trumpet or baroque trumpet depending on the configuration you buy, so there is no modern equivalent. You can buy crooks and yards to make it play in various keys. It is the frame assembly that is $500, but that is unplayable by itself. John Foster seems to think they are good for a beginner on the baroque or natural trumpet, but by the time you get four keys or so, you are looking at $1400 or so. In that price range you might look at better instruments. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S
