Hi all,

I've been looking around on youtube (and elsewhere) to see if I can find any lesson or masterclass videos of Dokshizer, but I haven't turned anything up. Does anyone know of one? As great as his recordings are, I'm hoping to hear some recordings of him up close, ideally even to hear his breathing, etc.

Thanks!

While it's not what I'm looking for, this video has some great parts to it, and would be worth a few minutes of time for anyone interested:

Also, thanks to Jeff Purtle for sharing this!

Anyone with ideas about lessons/masterclasses?

The Russian site of Dokshizer is not working (anymore?).
Here you can find some info and some Dokshizer transcriptions:

I am a real Dokshizer fan. For me he is the ultimate player. His recording 'Trumpeter on a Roof' is really brilliant but up to now I didn't succeed in buying one, it's out of print.
From that record:

And this is of course a classic:

If I read here posts about the 'right horn' or 'which mouthpiece for a big sound', I always think of mr. Timofei D. The Sarasate is played on a Selmer K mod, in fact a horn popular with old style dixieland players, the Kol Neidre on a Benge, the favorit horn of the commercial studio players. And both horns are played with a 7E mouthpiece, small and shallow, used mainly for piccolo.
