Fantastic!

Would you say that getting proficient playing good basslines helps the melodic sense as well? Any other benefits you've seen from "cross-training" like this?

I appreciate y'all checking it out!

And to nowave--most definitely, studying how to construct basslines helps with constructing melodic lines. They go hand in hand--the bass line IS a melodic line (if it's good, that is). Also helps to understand and communicate with bass players in musical situations because you can dig the logic behind how they move (and infer why they move they way they do), because the bass is the glue between the rhythm and the harmony.
