Here is video 1 in my new series!
The question I asked for this video was:
"What does your typical practice day look like, and does that differ from an ideal day?"
Featuring (in order): Michael Sachs, Bria Skonberg, Chris Coletti, Bijon Watson, Tage Larsen, Randy Brecker, Ingrid Jensen, Brian Lynch, Jose Sibaja, Arturo Sandoval, Selina Ott, Roger Ingram, Lessie Vonner, Karin Bliznik, Pacho Flores, Kenny Rampton, and Tine Thing Helseth.
This video has chapters - so it's extremely easy to navigate.
OK, so I've started watching the first video with Michael Sachs...and when finished, I had to stop the video and...breathe! Man, what a wealth of knowledge in his approach! Seems like it was a wealth of knowledge just in the first minute of him speaking!
I know you put the key points up to the right as bullet points, but I may have to transcribe his entire discourse, then memorize it, then apply it!
Kudos to you, Josh, for taking the time (nearly 50 hours!!!!) to do the interviews and then do all of this editing of these videos. Many thanks!

Thank you!! Yeah - his segment was so terrific. It's no wonder he's the player that he is - his approach is so methodical and thorough. _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp

What a wonderful project! I just finished watching the 1st and am motivated to get more structure into my daily practice.
Am looking forward to all the coming videos.
A big thanks to Josh, and to all the players who participated. _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'.

Great stuff Josh.
I have gotten through Chris Coletti, lots of great ideas. I really like the pie chart idea. Will definitely be going through this carefully. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S

Great stuff, Josh. And thanks for having Bria on the list. She is one of my favorite female players, and a talented fellow Canadian, too . _________________ GeorgeB

Yeah, that's such an interesting way to think about practicing, so easy to scale things up or down. _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp

Yeah, Bria is great. I had an opportunity to interview her last year in the Positive Trumpeters Worldwide group on FB and it was a great and informative discussion, so I knew I had to get her involved with this. _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp

Josh,
Just wanted to add my thanks and encouragement to you for putting together such an awesome series, I really liked the captions on the sides of the picture which helped to make it easier to understand what everyone was discussing.
I'm sure that was a lot of work and wanted to let you know it was appreciated!
Looking forward to the rest of the series...

Thank you, that's much appreciated. It was a lot of work, but the response and feedback has been very encouraging, so I can see that it was worth the effort. _________________ On the road with Under the Streetlamp

Hey TH, video #2 of my interview series is now live!
The question for this video was:
"Who was your most influential teacher, and why?"
I've watched this video 5 times in the last 24 hours while finishing editing, and I've gotta say, it was just as inspirational and compelling on the 5th view. So I hope you enjoy this video!
