You know, I'm starting to dig Herb Alpert again.

There was a time in my life when I thought TJB (the soundtrack of my childhood) was passe' and that Herb was kind of a wimpy trumpet player, but I've found it's the perfect music for me to listen to while I'm working at my desk--and the stuff he's done in the last twenty years or so is actually quite tasty. He'll never be a blazing jazz soloist, but the man is a true musician. Check this out:

I think it's very brave of you to uplift a multi millionaire......

I'm sure he will be thrilled....

Though I love my TJB LP albums, I much prefer today's version of Herb Alpert, the trumpet player. I also like the fact that he is a generous multi-millionaire humanitarian.

A lot of kids back in the TJB days started playing the trumpet because of Herb Alpert, I'm one of them!

He also helped some many artists start out on A&M records: Mendes & Brazil '66, Bacharach, Wes Montgomery, Carpenters, etc...

In January, 2020, my family and I caught the early show at Herb's Vibrato Grill in Beverly Hills.

Heard a great little big band with a good singer.

Beautiful club - all the decor by Herb.

A guy at the bar said Herb drops by frequently but that week he was on the road with his band.

On the road at 80-something!

I should be so lucky.
