|
|
Hello,
I use a 1st generation Flic button with forScore and it works well. The only drawback is the page turn is a little slow.
Flic makes now a Flic 2 button using Bluetooth 5.
Does anyone know if the Flic 2 is faster than the original Flic ?
Many thanks _________________ S’il n’en reste qu’un je serai celui là (Victor Hugo)

In general, the speed of the page turn relies on the device on which you are displaying the music. The Flic button connects via Bluetooth...and simply sends a signal to the Bluetooth receiver in the tablet or phone. Have you experimented with how the page turn works using your finger on the tablet screen? A few years back, I had a tablet that was just slow...the speed of the page turn was the same whether using a Bluetooth device or using my finger on the screen to turn the page. _________________ Best Regards,

Hello,
thanks for your answer.
My tablet is an IPAD Pro 12.9 and when I turn the pages with my finger, it is obviously faster than with the button. The button works well but you have to send the signal one or two bars before the turn. Of course manageable but not optimal.
As the Flic 2 use a Bluetooth 5 connection and, as far as I understand, does not need any more to transit via the Flic app, I was wondering if all this could make it faster.

I also have an iPad Pro 12.9" tablet...it works great with both the MouKey pedal and the PageFlip Cicada...very fast page turns...so it would appear to be something with the current Flic 1 button you're using. I'm sorry, bit I can't speak to how the Flic 2 would work since I don't have any experience with that device. _________________ Best Regards,

Thanks again.
I am not a big fan of the pedal. I have one (Airturn), works well (faster) but I always fear to miss it when needed! I prefer the button. May be a matter of practice.
I have bought a Flic2 right now from Amazon. So no risk: if it is not faster, I will send it back!
It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow!

Well,
I received the Flic 2 yesterday and made the test with foreScore and Newzik: the 2 is not significantly faster than the 1st (may be a "very little faster"?).
Unless there is a trick I don’t know, the 2 also needs the Flic app to work.
The 2 is a little bigger and the shape is different (the 1 is convex, the 2 concave).
To sum up: if you own the 1, no need of the 2 unless you prefer a concave shape, if you want a button, the 2 works but still a little slow.
That said, I also tested with my Airturn pedal and the difference in speed is not so big that I thought.

Curious if you guys or gals attach the flic button to your horn and if so how. I am thinking of trying one as alternative to my Blue Turn pedal, as I can’t always look down to locate pedal and hit the correct switch. Thanks.
I may start a new thread on the topic since this is the only one I found. _________________ 1956 Martin Committee Deluxe
