Before his passing in 2007, my trumpet teacher Ralph Schwartz wrote his own trumpet method book. Ralph was a top freelance player in NYC and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
On the 20th anniversary of Ralph completing this comprehensive method, his ex-wife Patti Arntz has published the method: https://trumpetmd.com/
The website features a video chat with Manny Laureano, who shares his thoughts about the benefits of Ralph's method book.

Ralph took me through this method after he wrote it. It presents a healthy physical approach to trumpet playing that is applied to every aspect of the instrument. The method helps the player to improve sound, flexibility, range, endurance, and consistency of tone through all registers and in all keys. It features a unique approach to learning scales that will benefit players of all levels.

While Ralph was always a great player, I felt that this method added a layer of color to his sound that hadn't been there before.

Check it out and enjoy!

For the price, I think they should call the sections "books" instead of "chapters." They're certainly long enough.

Even so $165 is a lot for a method.

Is there explanatory text accompanying the exercises? The photos of "sample pages" showed only musical exercises.

Yes, there is explanatory text for the exercises.

Please note that I am not the publisher or any kind of decision-maker regarding the method. I'm simply sharing it hoping that others can benefit from it as I have.

Best of luck with the method. Not sure why the website is called TrumpetMD. But just to clarify, it has nothing to do with me.
