Someone posted these wonderful videos from Clark Terry but I searched and I couldn't find them on the forum.

It appears the moderators removed the thread.
It was getting a bit testy.

I see. I must have missed the most controversial part. Anyways, I thought these videos were interesting and worth finding.

In a lesson with Bobby Shew he mentioned he ( Clark) did this all the time on the bus. It’s not how you play but builds the muscles used to play. I buzz a small bit but try to keep good embouch3re in teeth and lips.

Never did like buzzing thought it was a waste of time.

Nice videos, thanks! I recently saw a Bergeron clinic in which he said that it's
part of his warmup even if it's not really happening that way for him when actually playing..
It's nice to hear great players describe what works for them!

It's one of those things that it either helps or it doesn't. I used it to overcome focal dystonia and it has helped. I think it's easy to get carried away but at least 5 minutes a day should be beneficial to get things going. If I can buzz easily then playing is not going to be a problem. But after a tough gig the night before I find it hard to play the next day without a buzzing routine to help me find focus.
