I loved the Eye Candy threads from years ago, and would like to see some cool stuff again! I'll post some pictures of my horns and mp's when I get the chance!

Please post photos if you'd like.

Yeah, having to load them on a hosting site and then posting an imbed code or link is a hassle. Anyway, here’s my cornet (sorry, no trumpet), a large bore 1993 Bach Stradivarius with a heavily engraved gold brass bell and a few other extras.

I try my best to not look at porn, but this is irresistible. I am starting to tremble.

I got so worked up that I posted twice. Love the 80A's and the Bach is fabulous.

How about this one, an 1890 F. Besson London cornet?

Amazing what they could do in the 19th century.

Dale, on your Bach cornet, is that custom engraving? If you had it done, who did it? Pretty nice.

Warm regards,
Grits

It’s the stock “Bach Stradivarius Deluxe” pattern, engraved for me years ago by Sherry Huntley of Artistic Engraving. She was employed by Bach for a time as their engraver, too, but unfortunately for us, she has now retired from doing it.

Since this seems to have become a 'cornet eye candy thread', I'll share some images of cornets I haven't uploaded before . .

First, a pocket conversion of a Martin Imperial done for me by Robb Stewart, inspired by a conversion on a similar horn by Nick DeCarlis:

Second, a Conn 38A Victor Special restored by Mark Metzler:

Here’s a rare one, a 1962 Conn 9A Victor in very nice original condition, Coprion bell and leadpipe, .484” bore.

The patina on that flugel! Did you do anything to get it looking like that other than letting it sit?
