Hi All, years ago I had my Schilke E-flat/D trumpet worked on, and the repairman sold me a trumpet-to-trumpet adapter that essentially extended the instruments length and made the D side easier to play in tune. I am currently trying to find another one. The internet is full of cornet-to-trumpet adapters, but I can't find anything that takes a trumpet shank and puts it into a trumpet receiver. Before I try a 3D printing option (I still have the original), does anyone know where I can find another? Thank you! |

Bob Reeves makes a cornet-to-cornet mouthpiece adapter to lower the pitch of a piccolo trumpet, but I’ve never seen a trumpet-to-trumpet adapter. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

I suggest you contact the folks at Truevee. They may have a stock solution in their catalog, and if they do not, it's possible they can make a custom adapter for you. _________________ Enjoy the journey. |

Was the trpt-trpt adapter a 'handmade' item? Perhaps it was a cornet-trpt adapter that had been enlarged (reamed) to accept a portion of a trpt shank. _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'. |

We have trumpet to trumpet adapters by Bach in stock. Please call our shop (978)823-0580 and ask for Tim Cote, he'll take care of you. Our hours are Monday thru Friday 10am-5pm EST, and Saturdays 10am-2pm, closed Sundays.
Sorry they don't presently appear on our website.
I hope this is helpful. _________________ James Becker

Bach is now calling it a "trumpet mouthpiece extension".
You can use them as is or get someone - like Osmun- to turn the shank down.
I had this done many years ago to fine tune a pic. I also had a couple of cornet/trumpet adapters turned down to different lengths. |
