Just got the backbore Matt Frost made for my 1926 Vega. He based it on an original Vega piece but cut it to include Warburton threads so I can play it with the top of my choice.
Gonna use it tomorrow on a trad gig at a local park district event. A 96-year old horn, rebuilt by Lionel Emde with valves replated by Dan Oberlow and a great backbore to complete the picture.
Life is good! _________________ Jim Hatfield

Enjoy, Jim. I am lucky enough to know both Dan and Matt - great guys who are not only outstanding craftsmen, but want the best for their customers. Best wishes on the gig tomorrow! _________________ Matt Dalton |

Matt is awesome!! I teach horn in addition to trumpet at my college, and he made me a copy of my Parke 660 rim (he didn't have it on file, but scaled it up from a 650...and it's a perfect copy) that he machined to fit on a Schilke 29 horn mouthpiece. It's fantastic, and actually makes the horn tolerable for me to play in lessons with my students. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------------
