I'm looking at replacing my Thomas Hooten mouthpiece as the rim is not working out for me (too wide, too rounded).
I have been looking into Pickett Brass as I think that the customisation is very good and something I'm definitely interested in, but I'm worried about the rim on it. I personally am quite a fan of the Schilke Symphony Series rims which I hear are similar to Bach's (I don't have one on hand so I can't compare). Are the Pickett Brass rims similar to those rims or more rounded and wide like the Tom Hooten piece?

I own some Pickett model 2 and 4 pieces. The rims are pretty round on both. The 4 is, for me, like a small Bach 5c sort of feeling, the 2 is a small Bach 1.5 feeling. I have played some of the Schilke Symphony models also - nice pieces. _________________ Richard Hastings
