I've just been listening to Revisited! and Strike Two! by the Allan Vache Big Four which are inspired by the 1940 Bechet-Spanier recordings.
The cornet player David Jones is absolutely tremendous but I can find very little about him -- does anyone know of any other recordings that feature his playing?

David Jones was the cornetist in the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra at Disney World for about 32 years. To the consternation of many fans the group was "let go" in 2020. The last I heard the group is still giging occasionally in the Orlando area under a similar name (omitting the Grand Floridan monicker for obvious reasons). Davy still plays great. The GFSO made a couple of CDs during their 32 year run at the Grand Floridian. Presumably the CDs can be purchased on line? I have one that I bought at the GF gift shop a few years ago..... A Christmas CD under an "Erin records labe, 2011" titled The Most Wonderful Time Of the Year.

Thanks for the information.
Just read the posting about the demise of The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra on www.mickeyblog.com -- very sad ending for a loyal and obviously well liked band.
I've found 2 CD's by them : the Christmas one you mention and another called As Time Goes By (too many vocals!)

Just to add to my previous posts, I've found that David (Davy) Jones also recorded extensively with The Black Dog Jazz Band although unfortunately none of their recordings are still available on CD.
To add to my difficulties in tracing his recordings the internet keeps mixing him up with Davy Jones of The Monkees!
